Balbina introduced me to Herbert Grönemeyer, which is the kind of sentence that sounds made up but isn't. The brief was raw humans in the style of 90s MTV: a white wall, a camera, and a lot of characters being themselves. I loved it. A blank studio gives you nowhere to hide and everywhere to improvise.
Our DP Jakob brought so many tungsten lights that his six-person lighting crew was three hours behind schedule before we'd even started. This was also one of the hottest summer days of the year. The studio had no air conditioning. Everyone was sweating. The footage looks incredible. I'm not sure these two facts are unrelated.
