The Late-Discovery Tax
That shoot in Greenland took things from me that take weeks to regrow, which is how I found myself staring at YouTube art essays waiting for my nervous system to rejoin my body. That was my collision with Hiromix. What an absolute mastermind. Armed with a cheap point-and-shoot in nineties Tokyo, she created a time capsule that feels completely effortless—constructed, yet not constructed at all. I wish I’d known her work sooner. Mostly for the inspiration, but also because a used copy of her book on eBay now costs 460 Euros, which feels like the exact tax the universe levies on late enlightenment.
